To give you a general idea of what to expect with each link, I've devised an “arrow” rating system based on my own subjective interpretations of the websites’ content: ← A left arrow indicates a website
whose general theme is liberal, progressive, or left-wing. Most anti-establishment
websites will also be marked with a left arrow. → A right arrow indicates an overall
right-wing, (neo)conservative, or authoritarian website. Any website
that mentions Ann Coulter or Michael Savage in a positive light earns
an automatic right arrow. ↑ An
up arrow indicates a website with a libertarian or “paleoconservative” philosophy, or
any site that promotes limited government based on the US Constitution.
For those who still insist on categorizing political thought as only “left” and “right,” you
may comfortably turn these arrows to the right. This is, however, a dangerous
oversimplification. ↓ A down arrow indicates a conspiracy website or any site that
needs to be taken with a grain of salt. Many of these contains references
to the Illuminati and shadow government. Whereas I find these topics
somewhat interesting, I’m not ready to buy into them just yet.
For many of you right-wing types, the down arrow may be indistinguishable
from the left arrow. No arrow denotes a website which is either fairly neutral, or contains a mixture of perspectives. Or maybe I just haven’t figured out how to classify it yet! The arrow ratings are not used on foreign sites or humor sites. A good humor site should be anti-establishment. Since the current establishment is right-wing, the humor sites will necessarily reflect an anti-right-wing attitude. I've also given all veterans’ sites no-arrow status. As far as I'm concerned, they’ve earned the right to say whatever they want. |
